How your products are made…

British Made Gifts – Yes, really British Made!

We thought we’d give our customers and clients a little insight on how their products are made. We’re proud to manufacture all of our own products in our Yorkshire based factory and we pride ourselves on being transparent. So, here is the step by step process of the systems and machinery used to create all of our products – from Fleece Blankets and Beach Towels to MINI ME dolls and CaseSkinz.

Step 1

1 of 2 DGI Printers that accompany 2 Roland printers

British Made Gifts (L&S Prints Digital Ltd) sell to consumers on a number of platforms, including Ebay, Amazon, Etsy and the websites, alongside our consumer market we also produce and manufacture thousands of products a year for our drop ship partners, wholesale and private customers. Therefore, once the orders are carefully processed by our E-commerce team, they are brought through to our print and design team to be designed, personalised, tweaked and printed onto heavy duty paper using one of four high end printers.

Step 2

Hunt & Moscrop sublimation printer

The paper and material is then fed through our timeless Hunt & Moscrop sublimation printer. Sublimation printing is the application of sublimation inks onto a surface using a heat press to provide the required combination of heat, time and pressure. This process ensures a full colour, vivid and non fade print on all of our products.

Step 3

Brand new CadCam laser cutting machine

Once sublimated, the printed fabric templates then need to be cut. Until 2018, every product was cut by hand until our recent expansion saw the acquisition of our new CadCam laser cutter. We can now cut products a lot faster and the whole production process is accelerated. Although some products are still cut by hand.

Step 4

British Made Gifts sewing machines

Now that the material is cut and in pieces, it is up to our team of machinists to almost finish the manufacturing process by sewing and hemming the products. This step requires vast knowledge of the products as most items require a different sewing technique.

Cushions, Mush Cush‘s and MINI ME dolls will be sewn and then filled by our new fibre blowing machine.

Step 5

The busy packing department in full swing

The final stage is packing and dispatching. We take care in matching designs and products up to orders and packaging carefully. We also offer a bespoke service to our drop ship clients, if custom packaging is required we will package it so that it looks as though it has come directly from ‘your’ shop.

If you have any more questions about British Made Gifts, please don’t hesitate to drop us an email or give us a call! Alternatively, we often welcome clients to come and have a look around should they be interested in a drop shipping partnership.

Thank you!
